MISSING
THE BOAT
Some of the most broken-hearted
people in the world were those back in the early years of the century who missed the boat to
The idea of leaving everything
is not something we could not imagine; we will when we die. The early
immigrants left everything to come to
Those who have trusted Jesus
Christ have all their 'paperwork' done and are ready to board the boat when the
time comes. The time will come for many today,
thousands will go to their eternal homes. For those who miss the boat, Hell.
For those who are new creatures, heaven. Will you give up all for God who will
be your Heavenly Father and call you to His home, your new eternal home? Turn
your life over to Jesus today, the only way to Heaven.
MONDAY:
For when we were yet without
strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous
man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while
we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by
his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if,
when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much
more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so,
but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now
received the atonement. (Romans 5:6-11 AV)
What shall we then say to these
things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared
not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him
also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's
elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is
he that condemneth? It is Christ that died,
yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the
right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for
us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall
tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or
sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed
all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am
persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor
powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any
other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in
Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:31-39 AV)
TUESDAY:
For the law made nothing
perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the
which we draw nigh unto God. And inasmuch as not without an oath he
was made priest: (For those priests were made without an oath; but this
with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware
and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by
reason of death: But this man, because he continueth
ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them
to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he
ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such
an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate
from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; Who needeth
not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own
sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up
himself. For the law maketh men high priests which
have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
(Hebrews 7:19-28 AV)
Blessed be the God and
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath
begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from
the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept
by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the
last time. Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye
are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith,
being much more precious than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: Whom
having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet
believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory: Receiving the end
of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1:3-9
AV)
WEDNESDAY:
And when the morning arose, then
the angels hastened
The ransom of
a man's life are his riches: but the poor heareth
not rebuke. The light of the righteous rejoiceth: but
the lamp of the wicked shall be put out. (Proverbs 13:8-9 AV)
THURSDAY:
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it
is a tree of life. Whoso despiseth the word shall
be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment
shall be rewarded. The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to depart
from the snares of death. Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. Every
prudent man dealeth with knowledge: but a fool
layeth open his folly. A wicked messenger falleth into mischief: but a faithful ambassador is
health. Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth
instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured. (Proverbs 13:12-18 AV)
But what things were gain to me,
those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but
loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ
Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count
them but dung, that I may win Christ, (Philippians 3:7-8 AV)
FRIDAY:
Again, the kingdom of heaven is
like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth
and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth
that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking
goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold
all that he had, and bought it. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a
net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: Which, when it was
full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but
cast the bad away So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come
forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, And shall cast them into the
furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth. (Matthew
13:44-50 AV)
Then said Jesus unto his
disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take
up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it:
and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man
profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? For the
Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he
shall reward every man according to his works. Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death,
till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom. (Matthew 16:24-28 AV)
SATURDAY:
And there went great multitudes
with him: and he turned, and said unto them, If any man come to me, and
hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and
sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever
doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. For which of
you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down
first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? Lest haply,
after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all
that behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and
was not able to finish. Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth
whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that
cometh against him with twenty thousand? Or else, while the other is yet a
great way off, he sendeth an ambassage,
and desireth conditions of peace. So likewise,
whosoever he be of you that forsaketh
not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple. Salt is good: but if the
salt have lost his savour,
wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the
dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear,
let him hear. (Luke 14:25-35 AV)
And when he was demanded of the
Pharisees, when the
