To write the formula that has brought about the eclipse of the male in America would take more space than the narrative of the event itself.


Where to begin is simple - in the beginning, of course, Genesis 2:20 And Adam gave names to all cattle, and to the fowl of the air, and to every beast of the field; but for Adam there was not found an help meet for him.” God here intends that man have a woman ‘help-mate’, not a woman leader, but a helper. A helper as I understand must first be one who is willing to take directions from the worker in charge, then willing to apply themselves without question or complaint. Since the help-mate here is a woman and not as strong as the man, and with child-bearing responsibilities, it is the man’s responsibility to care for the woman helpmate’s safety and comfort.


Being eighty-eight years of age, I have a long-time memory as to how the man-woman relationships were and how they have changed in recent decades. The motivation for the changes is grounded in several fronts. Both men and women have contributed to these changes, each for selfish purposes and legalized by prejudiced authorities. If you are sixty years of age or older, you also will recall with me that there was a time when there were few women in the average workplace; not so today!


So, where do these changed attitudes begin and how do they grow?  First of all both sexes feeling sorry for their lot, have decided that the other has the best position in life and desire to exchange places. Some couples today have done that very thing; the woman works for pay and the man tends to the children and the home. This attitude is not new. God warns against such a sin in: De 22:5 “The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God.” 


This spirit of exchanging roles was warned against in God’s Holy Word and is still relevant today. But it continues in today’s society in manners acceptable to those who want to make both sexes equal in every manner of life and living. This is ‘effeminacy’ pure and simple, men and women agreeing to the exchange. We cannot place all the blame on the women who are the ones who demand equality because men are quite willing to step aside and let the woman become the wage earners and leaders, forsaking their duty to care for and protect their wives from foreign influences. There is Scripture relating to this effeminacy: 1Co 6:9-10: “Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. “


This selfishness on people’s parts is also a major cause for separation of married couples where each stands their grounds in what they believe. In order to assist in this separation, the government moved to make divorce more readily accessible beginning in the 1960’s. No more would one have to travel to Nevada to get a divorce; now it can be had at the nearest lawyer’s office. And so the process of occupation reversal progresses and the jobs that were formerly male have become uni-sex.


Now the women are much more happy doing the same work as men. But a problem has arisen; housework! The house and family duties are still to be cared for by whom? By the woman! Now the happiness of the equal work is threatened unless she gets some assistance with her workload; hence, a maid to clean and cook unless the husband is willing to help out. But he is worn from his labors of the day and not able or willing to roll up his sleeves, especially since these labors are women’s natural duty.


If there is no divorce by this time, good for them! So life continues in our little home, then one day there is news; a baby is on the way; “OH, NO!” she says. “This will mess up my job and create so much more work at home”. She wishes this had not happened and that it could be undone. Well it can and does many times a day; Abortion! Now isn’t that wonderful that the government’s “Planned Parenthood” program will help this poor unfortunate mother-to-be take care of the ’problem’ and her job will be saved and the housework will remain as is.


But there is sadness in the house. The father-to-be of the baby has wanted to be a ’Daddy’, to raise a child in his name with all the pride and joy that comes with being a father. When sharing his desire with his wife there is a conflict; a conflict that has no comparison in any family setting where one of the couple is opposed to the other in a selfishness that is willing to destroy a baby’s life for personal ease. Can this marriage survive without divorce? Possibly, but not likely.


So, here in a nut-shell we have the scenario that is lived out daily in America, divorce one family after another. With the destruction of what should have been marital bliss we find ambitious women engaged in climbing the success ladder to some great position of importance in society or community leadership, working among men of high degree who can use them to enhance their businesses.


This arrangement satisfies the woman until she gains the prestige and experience she needs to step out in her own business. Years have passed since her divorce and she remembers how bad it was and how well she is doing now, well enough to get into some community leadership position, maybe in church work or politics. But for this position she will need some education.


Fortunately for her, women these days can get an education. Years ago women had no need for education. Their lives were in the home raising the children and helping their husbands where they could with health matters and good food to keep him strong. What they needed to learn came from their mothers and their husband’s learning came from his father.


Education is a relatively new process in the world for the common man or woman. When the dirt roads were improved to accommodate motorized vehicles, the markets began to grow and taxes were needed to pay for the roads and later expensive highways. Some of these costs were covered by licenses for the operation of the vehicles and for selling goods. Today licenses are required for any and all manners of activities, even for fishing. In order to have some licenses one would have to pass an examination to show qualification for that activity. Without training there will be no license. So if our dear lady wishes to do legal work she needs a license and will have to go to school to learn to be a lawyer. It is the same for any craft or profession today, license, license, money, money, money!!


Education requires books, mountains of books, written by all kinds of “experts” in their fields. Probably most of these books are written with no spiritual helps for people with little spiritual knowledge. God has answers for all of man’s true needs. In this light, what does God have to say about this matter of personal advancement?   Luke 14:11 “For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted”. Also, Mt 18:1-5 “At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them, And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.


At this point let’s continue and think about the popular abortion mentioned earlier – verse 6:  But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.” These littlest of all who are in God’s arms and have not yet seen the light of day are the least of the least and so are greater than all in God’s eyes. Woe to those who would even think to offend them!


To be educated is one thing, but to be learned is quite another thing. Our elders were learned, and counted as nothing by the educated young ones, yet the elders paid for the young ones’ educations. Consider what Proverbs has to say. 16:18-19 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall. Better it is to be of an humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud.” It’s bad enough for a young man to be filled with haughty pride, but much worse for a young woman who has been influenced by liberal women bent on replacing men and their usual employments. They leave off their natural, God given purpose of child-bearing for personal glory and money. How does money equate with the God given life of another human person? You can surely answer this question without a formal education.


Men need make sure before marriage that the lady they choose as their helpmate is in agreement with him about who shall be the spiritual and practical head of the home. And they must know that she as well as he himself is a true regenerated, practicing Christian. Otherwise his fate will add to the “DEMISE OF THE AMERICAN MALE”.     10-15-2012
